COACH CAGNARDI’S COMMENT AFTER CANTÙ-UDINE

Coach Devis Cagnardi’s comments in the press conference after Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù’s victory against Udine.

“It was a match that we wanted to face like this, because it was the last one at home in front of our fans before the playoffs. We needed, more than the two points in the standings, to play a match that would give continuity to the last few weeks. We wanted to play a team game. Defensively, for a matter of confidence, we couldn’t afford to take steps backwards and we didn’t take them. Offensively I expected a very tactical match, in fact they showed up playing zone for almost all of the first two quarters, and then changed defense in the second half. We were ready to play against this tactic, we looked a lot for advantages, moving the ball, entering the holes in the area and we also made some nice baskets with individual talent. The second half was a bit difficult, they didn’t give up and showed great physicality by switching to man. We are happy with this match.”
