‘Feeds’ son sunlight causing death, convicted

A Russian blogger, obsessed with a vegan and raw food lifestyle, has been sentenced to eight years in prison for causing the death of his newborn son by forcing him to live on sunlight instead of food and milk.

Maxim Lyutyi, 44, forced his partner Oxana Mironova, 34, not to breastfeed little Kosmos who died when he was less than a month old. The blogger will serve his sentence in a maximum security penal colony. Some international media report it.

Lyutyi caused “serious injury” to the newborn by insisting that the baby should be fed mainly according to the “solar breath” diet, the Sochi court heard. According to what was learned, at a certain point, together with her partner, they took the little boy, who weighed just 1 kilo and 300 grams, to the hospital where the doctors could only confirm his death. The newborn was malnourished and had pneumonia.

During the court hearing which was held in recent days the blogger initially deflected the blame onto his partner but then admitted his guilt and declared to the court that he was guilty of “negligence”.

“He wanted to do an experiment on the child, feed him exclusively with the sun and then advertise to others that this is how he can eat,” commented a source close to the dossier. Her partner was sentenced to two years of community service.
