Following the success of Thomas Pidcock toAmstel Gold Race 2024 and of Stephen Williams at the Walloon Arrow 2024The Ardennes Triptych ends on Sunday 20 April with the classic appointment with the Liège-Bastogne-Liègedefined ‘The Dean’. And we will finally witness the long-awaited tête-à-tête between Tadej Pogačar And Mathieu van der Poel, which already promises to be spectacular, two days before the race. If on the one hand the Slovenian will arrive more rested than his opponent, having decided to skip the two previous races precisely to bet all the chips on La Doyenne, on the other hand the Dutchman has the fact of having practically dominated this first part of the season on his side. Before, however, continuing with the analysis of the favorites, let’s take the usual look at the route.

The 110th edition of the Liège, as usual, will start and end in the Walloon city and will cover a total of 254.5 km, dotted with Côtes. The first of the 11 altitude challenges that the runners will face, located 75.5 km from the start, is the Côte de Bonnerue (2.4 km at 5.7%), followed by Côte de Saint-Roch (0.9 km at 11.1%). From the Vielsasm onwards the race will come to life in rapid succession Côte de Mont-le-Soie (1.8 km at 6.6%), Côte de Wanne (2.9 km at 4.5%), Côte de Stockeu (1 km at 12.5%), Côte de Haute Levée (3 km at 6.3%) e Col du Rosier (4.5 km at 5.7%. Finally the last four that lead to the finish line in Liège: Côte de Desnié (1.6 km at 7.4%), Côte de la Redoute (1.6 km at 8.8%), Côte des Forges (1.3 km at 7.8%) e Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons (2.1 km at 4.5%).
