In Sulmona the debate comes alive after the declarations of the citizen coordinator of Forza Italia, Lorenzo Fusco, who accused the mayor Gianfranco Di Piero of inaction.
In a note, the majority groups of the Municipality of Sulmona responded to Fusco’s criticisms, defining his statements as “paraphernalia composed of the most vulgar political action”.
The accusations made by Fusco have been labeled as obvious, unfounded and summary. In particular, reference was made to the failure of the “Freely Sulmona” coalition, accusing Fusco of not recognizing that the removal of some councilors was motivated by the search for personal advantages. Fusco was also criticized for his attack on councilor D’Aloisio and for the criticisms of the Mayor’s alleged disengagement during the regional elections, without considering his support for the coalition in respect of the political forces of the majority.
Fusco’s most recent accusations concern the approval of the budget, claiming that this would result in a significant waste of time. However, the Municipality recalled that in the past the budgets were also approved in the summer, so its criticism is not understood.
The Municipality also underlined that the Mayor met with the newly elected regional councilors to discuss crucial issues such as healthcare, transport and cultural policies, demonstrating his commitment to the well-being of the city.
Finally, Fusco was reprimanded for his “bombastic” announcements about investee companies, ignoring the city administration’s efforts to save businesses vital to dozens of families.
The statement ends with an invitation to Fusco, so that, if truly interested in the good of the city, he suggests concrete solutions rather than empty criticism. It was also suggested that, in his capacity as political coordinator, he should avoid projects on culture that have been a source of hilarity to many in the past. (DV)
