Pregnant woman beaten and forced to steal in the Rome metro. «Bring us 1,000 euros every day»: two Roma arrested

The beatings, i pickpocketing, money. It happens in Rome. So she was beaten and forced to pickpocket the subway passengers, even though she was pregnant. For this reason, the State Police arrested two people as suspects, seriously accused of the crime of extortion and aggravated robbery in conspiracy. In particular, last April 5, on the platform towards Laurentina of the Rome Termini metro station, a 39-year-old Croatian woman was attacked by 3 people, with kicks and punches, inside the train.

Pregnant forced to steal, the story

The police officers from the Rome Police Headquarters intervened immediately and, upon arriving at the location of the report, found the woman in her eighth month of pregnancy on the ground as, shortly before, she had been violently attacked by 3 people. The woman was forced to pickpocket subway passengers, despite being pregnant.

The woman told the officers that she certainly recognized one of her attackers and that they would make demands on her «1000 euros per day», as proceeds of thefts. She had therefore been beaten up because she had decided she no longer wanted to work for them. The investigators of the State Police of the Viminale Commissariat, thanks to the descriptions provided by the victim and following meticulous information-investigative activity, have traced 2 of the 3 attackers, a man and a woman of rom, aged 20 and 24 respectively, who were subjected to arrest as a criminal suspect because they were seriously suspected of the crime of extortion and aggravated robbery in competition. The judicial authority validated the actions of the agents.
