Three people were injured, fortunately all not life-threatening, as a result of a terrible road accident that could really have ended tragically, which occurred along state road 90 in Puglia, in the Variante area near Via Loreto in Ariano Irpino.
For reasons under investigation by the police, two cars proceeding in the same direction, coming from the Martiri side, towards Cardito, ended up: the first, a Nissan Qashqai, in the ditch with its wheels upturned and the second, a 500 Abarth balanced in the garden of a house after knocking down a wall. Two years ago, the same episode. It was a truck that always flew into that garden, risking causing a massacre. The damage from that accident is still evident.
The fear was terrible for everyone. The road remained closed and the worst was immediately feared on that stretch which was already cursed and full of dangers.
The 118 health workers were on site together with the firefighters who immediately took steps to secure the two vehicles, the police and the carabinieri. On board the Nissan father and daughter while driving the 500 was a man whose conditions had initially appeared rather serious. But once we got to the hospital we were able to breathe a sigh of relief, the healthcare staff ruled out serious consequences and after a series of scrupulous checks by the team led by the director Silvio D’Agostino they were all discharged.
