Perhaps a risky overtaking. This could be the cause of the tragic accident that occurred in Sesto Fiorentino last night, in which a motorcyclist lost his life and a motorist was injured.
The accident occurred in via Mezzana Perfetti Ricasoli, 3,800km above sea level, around 4am this morning and involved, in addition to the motorbike, two cars and a lorry.
The victim is a 28 year old young man originally from Siena but resident in Sesto Fiorentino: he was promptly rescued and taken to Careggi hospital, where he later died. The injured person, 32 years old, was also taken to hospital under code green: the prognosis is not known.
Ambulances and police attended the scene.
The dynamics
According to an initial reconstruction, the motorcycle was traveling towards Prato and overtook a lorry in front of it. In carrying out the manoeuvre, the motorbike would have invaded the oncoming lane, first colliding with a car coming in the opposite direction and then hitting the three-wheeler. Due to debris on the road, another car traveling along the road towards Sesto Fiorentino punctured its front right tire and suffered a broken bumper.
