Yet another fatal accident at work today, on Friday 19 April, it cost the life of a young 23 year old worker Manuel Cavanna. The tragedy occurred late this morning in the municipality of Montepulciano, in the province of Siena, but on the border between the regions of Tuscany and Umbria. The emergency call went out shortly after 12.30 and numerous emergency services quickly rushed to the scene, in the Tre Berte hamlet of the Siena municipality.
The emergency operations center sent both the Nottola hospital medical vehicle, the Chianciano Terme Public Assistance ambulance and the firefighters to the scene of the accident but unfortunately there was nothing that could be done for the victim . The twenty-three-year-old’s condition immediately appeared very serious, so much so the helicopter was also alerted rescue Pegaso 1 which landed nearby around 12.50.
All efforts to save the worker proved futile and the health workers had to declare his death on the spot before transporting him to hospital. According to a very first reconstruction, the 23-year-old would have been hit by a large metal bar falling from a trailer he was working on. “The news reaching us from Montepulciano is dramatic. Once again we find ourselves mourning a life, a person who will never return to their family, their loved ones, their loved ones. A boy who won’t be able to chase his dreams, his projects, his future.”

At the moment, however, the dynamics of the accident at work are not yet clear and the contours of the tragedy are yet to be established. The Carabinieri and the staff of the Prevention, Hygiene and Safety in the Workplaces service of the local health authority also rushed to the scene and will respectively be responsible for clarifying the dynamics and any shortcomings in terms of safety means in the workplace. The magistrate on duty also went to the scene of the fatal accident after being informed of the facts.
