The forest firefighting teams of the Fvg Civil Protection.
The Region has allocated 426 thousand euros to guarantee operations of the integrated civil protection system within the scope offorest firefighting (Aib): of the amount identified, almost 300 thousand euros will be allocated to the Municipalities that have already acquired Aib registration, for purchasing complete kits to guarantee the operation of the firefighting teams as well as for new means and equipment intended for this specific sector. Another 127 thousand euros, however, will be paid for the training of new team volunteers fire prevention units active in the municipalities already registered in this sector.
In Friuli Venezia Giulia, based on a 2019 law, the activities of prediction, prevention and active control against forest fires are attributed to the competent central management and to the Civil Protection; the latter make use of the volunteering of municipal teams and other organizations established in the Municipalities whose territory falls within the regional plan for the defense of forestry heritage from fires and which are registered in the list of voluntary associations.
As of summer 2021, Friuli Venezia Giulia has been affected by numerous and important fires which, on the one hand, have more sensitized the volunteers of the groups municipal civil protection authorities on this risk and, on the other, have favored the strengthening of operations of the integrated regional civil protection system in the fight against forest fires.
In this context, between the end of 2022 and the first months of 2023 we are the voluntary component has increasingly expanded dedicated to the defense of forestry heritage from fires, which saw the inclusion of eight new municipalities in the regional fire prevention plan wooded; these are Capriva del Friuli, Fiumicello Villa Vicentina, Mortegliano, Mossa, Remanzacco, Romans d’Isonzo, Turriaco and Villesse. And it is precisely to the teams belonging to these municipalities that the Region has assigned, in various capacities, the 426 thousand 267 euros foreseen by the resolution approved by the Council.
