At dawn tomorrow Lando Norris will start from pole position in the sprint race of the Chinese Grand Prix, scheduled for 5 am on the Shanghai circuit which, after five years of absence, returns to host a Formula 1 event.
In a qualifying session carried out in the rain, the McLaren driver saw his time of 1’57″940 returned which had initially been cancelled, thus taking first place on the grid from Lewis Hamilton, who will join him on the front row in his Mercedes .
Behind them Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull), then Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) in fifth position ahead of Sergio Perez (Red Bull). Charles Leclerc has to settle, with the other Red, for seventh place on the grid, in the fourth row flanked by Oscar Piastri in the McLaren, then the two Kick Saubers of Bottas and the home favorite Zhou Guanyu.
