Explosion at a pro-Iranian Iraqi military base: bombing hypothesis

It was not clear at 02:00 whether it was a drone bombing or sabotage, but what is certain is that this evening at least one explosion with a large fire was felt at a military base in central Iraq used by regular army troops of Iraq which in fact has incorporated the former pro-Iranian paramilitaries of Hachd al-Chaabi who are part of the Iraqi popular mobilization forces. Confirmation of the attack on the Calso base comes from two Iraqi security sources. An official from the Ministry of the Interior announced that the explosion left “one dead and eight injured” among the soldiers on the base.
Any links to last night’s attacks are currently yet to be proven.

WHAT WAS HIT
The base known as Fob Kalsu or (Calso) is located in the governorate of Babil (Babylon), south of Baghdad. Last night at around 10.52pm (time to be confirmed) they reportedly hit an arms depot and, according to reports, several fires are burning in the base. The alleged airstrike targeted the headquarters of the chief of staff of the Popular Mobilization Forces, a tank garage and the entrance to the headquarters of the commander of the Babylon sites in southern Iraq.

An Iraqi security source said the jets that bombed Babil in Iraq originated from the Burj 22 base in the Rukban area of ​​northeast Jordan, near the Jordanian-Syrian border.
