The words of the rossoblù coach in the conference after Lazio

Speaking after the match Genoa-Lazio finished 0-1the rossoblù coach Alberto Gilardino he commented on the defeat in the press conference.

The team was a little tired but still struggled to keep their distance.
“In the first half I don’t think so. We had an excellent first half against a team of great quality. Let’s think about who we face and the progress we have made up to now. As long as Retegui and Ekuban held their ground we created opportunities. In the second half we dropped , certainly having played four days ago, in that moment Lazio took control of the game with their best quality players. We were a bit long even between the lines, we didn’t shorten well. there is regret but the boys gave everything. We have to put everything aside thinking about what we did in the first half.”

“As I have always said, there is great affection on my part, towards the fans in general, towards our people, I believe it is mutual for what we have shared up to now together, together with the boys, together with the team, for that that we managed to create, so I was very pleased and absolutely thrilled.”

De Winter and Strootman?
“I think he can play there in the near future. At times he did decent things tonight, some mistakes in the defensive phase from the point of view of attention. For Strootman it was right to give him a chance for the professional he is.”

How did you see the team’s offensive phase?
“Very good in the first half, as long as Retegui and Ekuban held their own we created the conditions to be able to hurt them. In the second half we dropped and struggled. They had the cleanliness of the first pass and that’s when we ran into difficulty.”

“He is an important engine. He has room for improvement in all phases. He can only improve and smooth out his defects while enhancing his strengths when he plays.”
