“Between good and evil, I always choose the SEA”, this is the title of the conference that took place yesterday at
the Giorgio La Pira Nautical Technical Institute of Pozzallo.
The event, organized by the Pozzallo Section Fidapa Association on the proposal of Ambiente Mare Italia, on the occasion of Green Week was very successful. The event was held in collaboration with Lega Navale Pozzallo, of which the president Eng. Luigi Tussellino illustrated the sea from an environmental point of view and its protection work.
The association of the town was strengthened once again by the Società Marinara of Pozzallo, in particular the president Capt. Antonio Campanella presented two representative commanders who exposed the international convention for the prevention of pollution.
The speeches of the head teacher of the IIS, Prof., were lavish and interesting. Antonio Boschetti, protagonist
recent victory of the Citizenship of the Sea with a project presented by the students, and of the Frigate Captain Stefania Milione, who sent a message of reflection to the young people who have decided to undertake seafaring work.
To close the event, the Tourist Expert Dejanira Agnello Modica and the prof. Antonio Licata, archaeologist and author of several scientific publications on archaeological excavations, which exposed the historicity of the territory and the protection of shipwrecks at sea to the audience.
A conference that will certainly pave the way for other, non-sporadic meetings, to ensure that these cultural moments of sharing and study can encourage citizens to be proud of the territory, steeped in history, in which they live and, consequently, reflect on awareness of its environmental, historical and patrimonial protection and respect.
