Property confiscated and still occupied: eviction yesterday

Yesterday morning, the police forces of the Latina Police Headquarters, together with the Carabinieri, the staff of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza and the Local Police of Latina, carried out the clearing of a building located in via dei Latini, in Piazza Moro, subject to confiscation. According to what was declared by the Police Headquarters in a note, the property had been occupied without title. The seizure of the building dates back to several years ago, in 2017, and was subsequently confiscated on the basis of the so-called anti-mafia code, following an investigation conducted by the Economic-Financial Police Unit of the Guardia di Finanza of Latina on some professionals involved in a criminal association aimed at committing fraud against the INPS. The confiscated property was still inhabited by one of the suspects and his family, despite the eviction order issued by the National Agency for the Administration and Destination of Seized and Confiscated Assets from Organized Crime. The Police Headquarters underlined that this result was achieved thanks to the collaboration between local law enforcement agencies and the National Agency for the Administration and Destination of Assets Seized and Confiscated from Organized Crime, coordinated by the Prefecture of Latina. This operation, aimed at restoring legality, is part of a broader program of entrusting assets belonging to crime to institutional bodies.
