The police are investigating the causes of the fires. It cannot be ruled out that the batteries of the hybrid cars caught fire.

Yesterday afternoon, Sunday 14 April, the firefighters were involved in two separate interventions to put out burning cars in Venegono Superiore and Cairate.

First intervention in Venegono Superiore

At approximately 1.50pm, the call came in about a car on fire in Venegono Superiore. The firefighters intervened promptly and put out the flames, making the car safe. The causes of the fire are yet to be ascertained.

Second intervention in Cairate

At 4.50pm, another alarm sent firefighters to Cairate, where another car had been engulfed in flames. Also in this case, the firefighters managed to put out the fire and make the car safe. There were no injuries reported in either incident.

Thanks to the timely reporting by citizens and the rapid and efficient intervention of the firefighters, the flames were put out in both cases, avoiding worse damage.

The police are investigating the causes of the fires. At the moment, neither accidental nor malicious leads are ruled out. Nor that the batteries of the hybrid cars caught fire.
