Fismo Confesercenti Liguria: «Save the end-of-season sales», here are the proposals

Too early start dates, continuous promotions, competitive distortions and the absence of rules are killing them: for this reason Fismo Confesercenti Liguria is launching an awareness campaign to ask the institutions to save end-of-season sales.

“We don’t want to abolish them, much less maintain the status quo, but rather give sales back the raison d’être for which they were born, because we believe in the value that end-of-season sales have both for customers and for businesses”, explains the regional president of Fismo, Francesca Recine.

In detail, the association that brings together the clothing and footwear shops participating in Confesercenti makes three specific requests: a certain start date, unique at national level and shared by all regions, which is effectively at the end of the season; a shorter duration, not exceeding one month; a crackdown on excessive promotions and against those who don’t respect the rules, starting from the online giants.

«With this initiative of ours – says Recine – we want to give strength to the boutiques and fashion shops of our cities, and for this reason we invite all colleagues to join the campaign by sending us an email to [email protected], indicating the name of their shop and attaching a photo of their shop window.” At the same time, the association has started distributing over 2 thousand postcards to shops in the center and historic center of Genoa to promote the initiative, which will continue throughout Liguria in the coming weeks.
