The funeral of Antonio Meloni, the 84-year-old fisherman, whose body was found lifeless yesterday, Easter Sunday, on the coast of Torre Grande.

According to what was reconstructed by the Carabinieri, Meloni went to the mouth of the Tirso river on Saturday evening to fish. He would have put on a wetsuit and immersed himself in the water.

He would have had an illness.

His body was transported by the current to the stretch of sea in front of the beach between the old fishing village and the small port, near the surf school, on the Torre Grande coast.

A person walking on the beach made the dramatic discovery and alerted the police.

The men of the Coast Guard – Oristano Port Authority and the carabinieri of the Oristano Company, the Cacciatori di Sardegna and the Cabras Station intervened on site.
