The urban SUV market is booming, even in the niche of high quality and luxury. Lexus is following this path, as demonstrated by the filing of a name that could indicate its willingness to propose a model to enrich the UX range.
Specifically, it’s about the future LBX it should be based on the same technical platform as Toyota’s Yaris Cross SUV. Yes, because sometimes it doesn’t take much to throw the automotive world into turmoil.
A simple name filed with the competent authorities and the curiosity for the arrival of a new model is triggered. The case that interests us today therefore concerns Toyota and its high-end subsidiary Lexus, of which we want to delve into the details:
Towards the new high-quality SUV Lexus LBX 2022-2023
The 2022-2023 Lexus LBX urban SUV would be based on the same TNGA-B platform as the Toyota Yaris Cross and the engine could also take overor a 116 bhp three-cylinder 1.5 hybrid combined with two or four-wheel drive as desired.
The Lexus model may show though slightly higher performance marking its premium positioning. The idea of a Lexus for cities is not new, as witnessed in 2015 by the city concept car LF-SA. If the technical basis (TNGA-B) is identical to that of the fourth Yaris of the name, the Yaris Cross, it shows larger dimensions to reach 4.18 m in length, 1.77 m in width and 1.56 in height. The dashboard of the Toyota Yaris Cross is identical to that of the Toyota Yaris.
