Elden Ring is not Hidetaka Miyazaki’s favorite soulslike

Elden Ring is undoubtedly one of the most important games of this generation of video games, it was a record for FromSoftware and we will talk about it again soon DLC, but it’s not ‘s favorite soulslike Hidetaka Miyazaki.

In a recent interview with Cnetthe director of From Software was asked what his favorite video games were among those created by the Japanese software house.

Between one chat and another up Shadow of the Erdtreemassive expansion of Elden Ring which you can recover on Amazon in physical format, Miyazaki had to expose himself personally by giving an opinion on From Software’s titles. Which is the equivalent of asking a parent who their favorite child is. Almost.

“I love them all”Miyazaki quickly responded to give some necessary context to his selection.

To then respond with his definitive judgment which, curiously, he doesn’t understand Elden Ring. At least not in the realm of personal preference:

«On a very personal level, I would say, the first Dark Souls and Bloodborne they left a big impression on me. As a company, Elden Ring put us in a completely different league, so it was a huge milestone for the company.”

So, when Miyazaki finally manages to make his ideal fantasy role-playing game, as he recently declared, he will certainly be inspired by the soulslike that made the genre famous and by the increasingly beloved and lamented PlayStation exclusive.

Bloodborne, Furthermore, he has never stopped being loudly requested by fans, who would like to play him at any cost PC or PS5 at least. Who knows if sooner or later something will move.

Speaking of From Software video games in general, however, Miyazaki has a thing for King’s Field II. A title that takes him back to his childhood and which he considers as the spiritual prequel to Demon’s Souls.

In the meantime, however, it’s time to Elden Ring with its expansion, which we reviewed today: here you can find the analysis.
