ChatGPT is about to receive a major update. This is announced OpenAI in a post published on his own official blog. The company has informed its users about the arrival of a new feature. It’s about “Memory”. The latter will allow the chatbot, as the name suggests, to archive requests, query and others customizations definitively.
Initially, this feature was only available to a small number of users. Now it has been announced that it will be accessible to all subscribers paying a ChatGPT Plus that are outside of Korea and Europe.
New feature coming to OpenAI’s ChatGPT
The new Memory function aims to expand the functioning of the OpenAI chatbot. Furthermore, he aims to make his own answers much more personalized. This happens by following two modes. The first is based on user requests themselves, as the system remembers specific details. The second mode is based on the new ChatGPT mode which is capable of learn from other conversations. In this way, according to what happens with the algorithms present in the apps, the AI will be able to personalize its responses based on the chat history.
OpenAI, in the post published on its blog, reassured its users in relation to the safety of this mechanism. According to what has been reported, the system will act in full respect for privacy. For this reason users will keep the full control on the data that will be stored by ChatGPT. The same goes for their use for train AI models.
Indeed, as specified by OpenAI if you want the chatbot you forget something is enough ask. Users will have the option to delete specific data or delete them all directly from the personalization settings. To access it you will need to go to the “Manage Memory” and proceed from here. ChatGPT memory will have the ability to evolve with the interactions of users, therefore, the system is not linked to individual specific conversations. To eliminate “memories” it is necessary to intervene on the memory itself and not on the chats. Eliminating them does not solve the problem, which is why you need to proceed via the OpenAI chatbot settings.
