Capcom is about to kill 3 games: they will no longer be purchasable
Descriptive text here

Another blow to video game preservation: Capcom announced in the last few hours permanently remove from purchase on Steam — but presumably also valid for other online stores, such as Xbox — 3 of his video games in the next weeks.

No official explanation was given as to why these sudden removals are becoming necessary, but these titles will no longer be available starting from 8 May 2024.

It’s about Dark Void, Dark Void Zero And Flock!: in less than two weeks it could therefore become impossible to purchase them, unless you find keys on sale at external retailers.

For Dark Void there is also the possibility of recovering physical copies (you can find them on Amazon), even possibly from the second-hand market, but it is really difficult to understand why such a drastic move is being made.

The announcement came via a short text added to the respective pages on Steam, which indicates that after May 8th they will be able to continue playing it only users who purchased it before the imminent removal.

On the other hand, Capcom has decided to offer all 3 of these games with some special discounts: Dark Void it can currently be purchased with a 50% discount, while Dark Void Zero And Flock! are available with a 39% price reduction.

The promotion will remain valid until it is actually removed from the stores: we leave you below at official pages on Steamif you want to take advantage of these opportunities before it’s too late.

We point out that Dark Void And Flock! are available also on offer on the Xbox Store And at lower prices, if you prefer to play on console.

No announcement has been made regarding the console stores, but it is plausible to imagine that the removal will also be valid for Xbox: we leave you with the official pages below.

We hope that in the next few hours an official clarification will arrive from Capcom regarding this sudden removal from the stores: We will keep you promptly updated as soon as we know more.

This situation does nothing but confirm the need for more concrete efforts for the preservation of video games, which unfortunately has suffered another bad blow in recent hours.

If nothing else, things still seem to be going very well for Capcom, to the point of having increased its forecasts for the fiscal year also thanks to Dragon’s Dogma 2. And, probably, not thanks to these 3 titles.
