THQ Nordic has updated the official page of Gothic 1 Remake on Steam with some new images which demonstrate quite clearly thegraphic evolution applied to the old Piranha Bytes title, released more than 20 years ago.

Gothic 1 Remake is a total technical remake, which aims to offer original story and content but with a completely different graphic look, built on Unreal Engine 5by the Alchimia Interactive team.

The new images demonstrate the excellent results achieved with the graphics engine in question.

Seeing it like this, it appears decidedly different from the original, released in 2001 as one of the best-known examples of the wave of open world RPGs that began at the time, still very rough technically but impressive for the period, above all thanks to the vastness of the setting and the freedom granted to the player.

The situation with the Remake is obviously very different, demonstrating great attention on the aesthetic front, with the game destined to exploit various features of Unreal Engine 5 to keep up with the times.

Gothic 1 Remake is also a particularly long project: officially announced in 2020, the game has shown itself in flashes over the years and does not yet have an official release date but we know that it should arrive on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. To get to know him better, we refer you to our special on everything we know about the famous role-playing game, awaiting further communications.
