PlayStation 5 just received a new firmware update, the 24.03-09.20.00, with a total weight of 1,187GB. And in addition to the usual improvements in performance and stability of the operating system, the update also introduces a new functionality.
It’s about the Community Game Guide, which expands what is already offered by the normal Game Guide and which now also allows users to create guides for PlayStation 5 games with advice and tips on how to tackle certain sequences. At the moment the new function is only active with a small number of titles, but Sony aims to expand it further in the near future.
How the Community Game Guide works is simple: once you have given your consent via options, PS5 will record footage of our performances automatically uploading video clips online once the user has overcome certain challenging situations. Amateur videos will be marked with the wording “Community Game Guide” to distinguish them. This is therefore a rather useful novelty if we have problems with certain sequences of the games we are playing: the clips generated by other users can give us valuable suggestions for understanding how to advance, thus avoiding being stuck in the same point for too long.
Still on the subject of help, Sony recently patented an automatic progression system in games, although it still remains to be seen when and if it will ever be applied.
