If the surprise represented by the arrival of Xbox Cloud Gaming on Meta Quest wasn’t enough, the technological giant linked to Facebook announces the opening of the Quest ecosystem to third parties, starting with Lenovo, ASUS and Microsoft.
The move made by Meta is destined to revolutionize the landscape of Mixed Reality devices, due to the enormous multidisciplinary implications of a similar partnership between technological giants interested in expanding in this sector with still largely unexpressed potential.
Due to this opening to third parties, Meta confirms that starting today, Monday 22 April, all interested companies can access the operating system of Meta Quest devices and, above all, the documentation necessary for create your own Mixed Reality viewers (augmented and/or virtual).
Among the first companies that wish to embrace the new vision of Meta/Facebook we find Lenovo, ASUS and Microsoft: the three hi-tech giants will exploit the new development platform ‘Meta Horizon OS’ to create Mixed Reality devices with the most disparate functions.
