Fognini and Berrettini in the second round, Arnaldi ko. In the afternoon Sinner

Good debut by Jasmine Paolini at the Wimbledon tournament: the finalist of the last Roland Garros beat the Spanish Sorribes Tormo in two sets, with a score of 7-5/6-3.

Despite back problems, Matteo Berrettini managed to prevail over Fucsovics in four sets: 7-6, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. A prodigious recovery for the Italian after the back problems suffered during the match: a head victory, with Berrettini continuing his adventure on the Wimbledon grass and not surprisingly touching his temple at the end of the match to signify a victory built on will and desire, despite poor physical form.

Medvedev beat Kovacevic 6-3 6-4 6-2 to qualify for the second round. Now, or rather in about a quarter of an hour, it will be Trevisan-Keys’ turn. That match on court 1 was not scheduled, but Sabalenka’s withdrawal caused a change. At the end of Trevisan-Keys Sinner and Hanfmann will play, but they won’t take the field before 6.30pm.

The Hungarian tennis player takes advantage of the break gained at the start of the third set and wins the third set 6-3. Berrettini is now ahead 2 sets to 1 over Fucsovics.

The reigning champion struggled more than expected, but in the end won the first set with a score of 7-6, Lajal fell in the tie-break 7 points to 3. Alcaraz now seems to have the wind in his sails in this match, but Lajal has proved to be a good player.

A stinging defeat for Matteo Arnaldi who, after winning the first two sets, with a score of 7-6 6-2, seemed to be in control of the match and instead won in five sets against Tiafoe with a score of 6-7 2-6 6-1 6-3 6-3.
