Between Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th June La Spezia will host i Italian Athletics Championships. The Italian event, now in its 114th edition this year, promises to be particularly vibrant and spectacular with many big Italians expected at one of the last competitive tests in view of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Registered among others are Marcell Jacobs and Chituru Ali in the 100, Filippo Tortu in the 200, Pietro Arese in the 1500, Lorenzo Simonelli in the 110 hurdles, Alessandro Sibilio in the 400 hs, Mattia Furlani in the long run, Andy Diaz in the triple, Leonardo Fabbri in the men’s weight and Zaynab Dosso in the 100, Nadia Battocletti in the 5000, Ayomide Folorunso in the 400 hurdles, Elisa Molinarolo and Roberta Bruni in the auction, Larissa Iapichino in the long run and Sara Fantini in the hammer in the women’s field.
A total of 42 national titles are up for grabs in two days, which also represent the last chance for those who have not yet obtained Olympic qualification via standard or ranking.
