Lovers of speed, cinema, but also streaming, you will be pleased to know that the Formula 1 film by Apple Original Films, starring the star Brad Pittfinally has one official release date: June 25, 2025.
From what emerges two days later, on June 27, the film will be released in theaters in North America, while the film will subsequently arrive on the Apple TV+ streaming service.
Behind the camera we find Joseph Kosinski, the director who brought the blockbuster to success Top Gun: Maverick. Kosinski promised to make us experience the emotions of Formula 1 like never before, thanks to cutting-edge filming technologies. The actors, in fact, tried their hand at driving Formula 2 cars specially modified to resemble real Formula 1 cars. It is rumored that the film’s budget is stratospheric, exceeding 250 million dollars.
Filming took place over the last year on some of the most iconic Formula 1 circuits, during the Grand Prix weekends. Despite a stop in 2023 due to the workers’ strike, cast and crew are ready to return to the track for some races of the 2024 season, before the grand finale of filming.
Although the official title is still a mystery, the project is generally known as Apex F1named after the fictional team that appears in the film. Brad Pitt will play a former driver who returns to the track to support his teammate, played by Damson Idris. Alongside them, an exceptional cast that includes Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies and Sarah Niles.
