Having crossed the threshold of the editorial office in via Mantova, Luca Baraldi does not hide his happiness and his admiration for our «Gazzetta di Parma». «For me it’s a bit like coming home, if I think back to my experience at Parma Calcio and to this city, where I live and which I love deeply» highlights the current CEO of Virtus Bologna, welcomed yesterday morning by the editor of our newspaper, Claudio Rinaldi. «We can consider the Gazzetta di Parma the Virtus of local journalism» the words with which, referring precisely to the coat of arms of the Vu Nere, Rinaldi accompanied the homage given to Baraldi: the two volumes of «Parma è la Gazzetta», the work created on the occasion of the exhibition for Parma Capital of Culture.

Parma and sport

For Baraldi “in this area there are ideal conditions to carry out an important project in the sporting field”. And he explains: «We work well and there is an audience that is not only competent and passionate but also patient, as demonstrated by the maturity with which it has borne the shame of failure». And he mentions his experience within the yellow-blue club, miraculously saved after the Parmalat collapse. «I entered on January 11, 2004, while the Tanzis were leaving the door. I didn’t have a euro in my drawer, but in those complicated days I appreciated the sincere demonstration of affection from many entrepreneurs. It wasn’t us who were looking for them, but rather them who came forward to help society. I also experienced a difficult situation at Lazio, in the affair linked to Cirio, but in Rome I didn’t find the same climate as in Parma.”

The Crusaders and Serie A

Parma is in excellent hands today. «A solid and far-sighted ownership that everyone would like to have and which will certainly be able to guarantee the club and its fans the bright future they deserve». Baraldi also praised Pecchia: «He is very good – notes the former Gialloblu general manager – and the choice to remain on the Crociati bench, in my opinion, is the right one. Furthermore, Parma has modern and functional structures, such as the Collecchio sports centre: an advantage. With some additions of experience in certain roles and the confirmation of its most talented young players, I am convinced that this team will be able to be protagonists in Serie A right from the start.”
