It was a memorable weekend for the Youth sector of the TeamVolley. En-plein of victories, from Serie D to Under13. Among these, they also stand out two derbies.

D SERIES

SERIES D Group A – 25to day

BOTALLA TEAMVOLLEY – S2M Volley Vercelli 3-1

(27-25/25-18/21-25/26-24)

BOTALLA TEAMVOLLEY: Gilardi 1, Cena 12, Fantini, Sola 17, Zignone 17, Damo 16, Boggiani 1, Venturino 1, Piletta 2, Gariazzo, Paniccia 1, Vioglio (L). Coach Ivan Turcich, deputy Marco Allorto.

Coach Ivan TURCICH: «We have finally shown what we are worth even in the game, overcoming the mental barriers that we have always created for ourselves. Despite the now mathematical relegation the girls were spectacular, clear-headed, they made few mistakes, taking risks in all the fundamentals. I’ve been waiting for weeks (if not months) to see them demonstrate – not just to me – what they can do. We said to ourselves “Until the last ball” and so it was, at least at home. An interesting match awaits us next weekend (we are defining a possible move) against an opponent that we beat in the first leg, albeit with a different team. Of course, Saturday something has changed in the girls’ heads and I hope they manage to confirm themselves even away from home.”

Captain Camilla GILARDI: «There was no better way to end our home run than with a victory. Unexpected, if I’m honest. On the pitch we were united as a real team, but the best detail is that we have always been smiling and carefree, with the desire to bring the game home. We never stopped believing in it, even in the moments when we went significantly behind in the score. We said it would be “Until the last ball” and despite the relegation already confirmed, we still fought for the victory, demonstrating that we can have fun and achieve notable results at the same time».

UNDER17 – “DANIELE ZICCIO” TROPHY

GENERALI VIA CARSO TEAMVOLLEY – Acquatec Virtus Biella 3-0

(25-12/25-7/25-14)

GENERALI VIA CARSO TEAMVOLLEY: Boggiani 6, Cena 13, Piletta 4, Sola 13, Gariazzo 8, Damo 7, Vioglio (L1) 1 [con pasticcini…]Paniccia 2, Floris 1. Coach Paolo Salussolia, deputy Alessia Diego [altri pasticcini!]

Coach Paolo SALUSSOLIA: «We played a decent race in some aspects, especially tactical ones, although the concentration remains intermittent. The fragmented race didn’t help. However, I didn’t like some of the technical errors at all. We demonstrated sniper precision, but in hitting the opponent’s wall, especially when single. It would be more useful to use this “aim” for more logical trajectories. The enormous work done during the season with my colleagues is coming into circulation, however: some movements begin to be more fluid and the reactivity to the required adjustments begins to become more marked. Next Monday we will close the group with another derby at this point let’s try to translate the performance into a qualification for the Final Four».

UNDER15 – SPRING CUP

ANGELIC TEAMVOLLEY – Numeraria Virtus Biella 3-2

(25-18/26-24/19-25/20-25/15-12)

Coach Marco ALLORTO: «It was the classic match that you don’t expect. It was a derby, so it could have been a nervous and ugly match instead it was hard-fought, fun and intense. We immediately moved ahead in the first two fractions, only to catch up in the third and fourth. At the tie-break we managed to prevail. Derbies are always unpredictable: both teams faced each other head-on, fielding good game and some actions worthy of higher categories. We bring home a victory that once again establishes the Good work what we are doing this week with the girls. Let’s continue like this: go TeamVolley!».

UNDER13 – COMMITTEE CUP

CONAD TEAMVOLLEY – Volley Vercelli U13f 3-0

(25-18/25-13/25-14)

Coach Alessia DIEGO: «Last Committee Cup match and a good victory against Vercelli. A match played between ups and downswhen we managed to do things in an orderly and clean way we proved it a superior game, while when we got caught up in haste and superficiality we paid, making our opponents move up in the score. Overall it went well, some small ones have made their debut during the match. Having qualified among the top four, we will face San Rocco in the semi-final on Sunday in Novara.”
