On the 22nd day of the women’s second division, Virtus Cermenate won against Cabiate by 3 sets to 1.
Virtus wins in the Second Division
Cermenate closes the championship in style with a three-point victory against Cabiate. The first set started point by point until 13-13, when the Virtuxians found a good break (13-16, 16-21). The hosts close the gap (21-22), but Cermenate does not falter, winning the partial 21-25.
The second set is a copy of the previous one with the two teams playing in balance until 10-10. Then it’s Cermenate who extends the lead again (10-15, 13-18, 17-21). Cabiate doesn’t accept it and at the end of the partial he catches coach Sartorello’s team (24-24). The advantages are played point by point and, after a long series, it is Cermenate who closes 30-32. The third set is also balanced (9-9). The Virtussins move forward (9-14). Cabiate responds immediately (15-15). Point by point until 17, then Cermenate gets a good break (17-20). Cabiate puts everything back into question at 21-21, and extends (23-21) going on to win the partial 25-21. Cermenate immediately redeems itself in the fourth set. In fact, it is the Virtussini who start ahead (0-3, 3-6, 5-8). Cabiate shortens (9-10, 11-11), but Cermenate reacts immediately (11-16, 13-20) closing the set 19-25 and the match 3-1. For the young Cermenate an excellent sixth place in the standings which seals the excellent path carried out by the yellow and blue team.
