the great Suzuki dream in the American garage

After Suzuki’s sudden farewell from the MotoGP grid, Joan Mir and Alex Rins had to follow the paths of the market, arriving at Honda in the 2023 season. The former remained astride the RC213V, the latter immediately packed his bags to go on the factory team Yamaha. In 2024 the paddock welcomed Davide Brivio back after his stint in Formula 1 and now the team manager from Brianza could reunite Hamamatsu’s old dream in the American garage of the Trackhouse.

Mir and Rins in the Trackhouse sights

It’s no secret that Joan Mir is fed up with the situation at Honda. Since his arrival under the aegis of the Golden Wing he has achieved only one top-19 (5th in the 2023 Indian GP) and at the end of this MotoGP championship the contract with HRC comes to an end. The world champion has no intention of continuing this “via Crucis” and could sacrifice himself like Marc Marquez, choosing a more advanced bike even at the cost of signing with a satellite team. And everything seems to indicate that Mir is destined for the Trackhouse.

Davide Brivio arrived in the stars and stripes garage at the beginning of the year and wants to give a decisive turning point to the team. Joan Mir could be in the sights of the Lombard manager, thus returning to collaborate after the fruitful adventure in Suzuki, where he won the MotoGP title in the 2020 World Championship. But according to Sky Sport, Brivio’s project would go even further, aiming for the other former Suzuki rider , Alex Rins. Alternatively, the American Joe Roberts would be in the notebook, who would be very popular with the Yankee owners.

All these conjectures would lead to a real revolution within the Trackhouse box. Raul Fernández and Miguel Oliveira would have their days numbered in the Aprilia satellite team and finding a way out won’t be very easy for both of them. At the moment everything remains vague, but Joan Mir has the firm intention of ending the difficult two years with Honda and trying to make a change to his career by committing himself to another manufacturer.
