There McLaren F1 it is considered one of the most beautiful cars of all time, an example of the magnificence of those magical years that were the 90s, a period of great experiments and fantastic cars.

The artist designed it Gordon Murray, Formula 1 guru, who was commissioned by the British company to create an exclusive supercar. Only 107 were produced and of those only 64 were approved on the street, including the one you find on this page.

In 1998 the McLaren F1 with its characteristic three seats entered the Guinness World Records as the fastest production car in the world, reaching 386.4 km/h and beating the Jaguar XJ220 (349 km/h). As you might guess from the name, it was in fact a Formula 1 with covered wheels, a profusion of technology that made it enter the Olympus of supercars of all time. Even today it is one of the fastest cars in the world and it is precisely for this reason, but also for its exclusivity and its fantastic line, that in 2021 at Pebble Beach one was sold to $20.4 million5 million more than the estimated price.

It was an F1 with only 387 kilometers on the clock but the one that is currently for sale from Sotheby’s risks break every record. Whoever put the F1 up for sale actually only drove it for 22 kilometers in three years, and in fact it is almost new. Why this very little use? Without a doubt, whoever bought it wanted to keep it intact, aware that a car of this type with so few kilometers is worth a fortune.

Obviously its owner will have suffered quite a bit in owning a jewel of this type without practically ever using it, but the next May 13th, when it is auctioned by Sotheby’s Sealed, he will be able to reap the fruits of his hard work. Among other things, this is the only McLaren F1 model in Creighton brown with brown interior. Unfortunately the final price will remain secretconsequently we will always remain in doubt, but we are almost certain that the Pebble Beach record from three years ago will be beaten.

Just think that according to Sotheby’s every year a McLaren F1 increases its value by approximately $1 million: it was produced in 1995, you decide. It is estimated that there are around 100 McLaren F1s still in circulation, and their location is effectively known to everyone.
