The mystery, perhaps solved, of Daichi Kamada. In just over a month he returned to the center of Lazio thanks to the Tudor ‘cure’. With Sarri he was on the fringes of the team, even sitting on the bench five consecutive times. All different music instead with the Croatian master: the Japanese never leaves the field, at the cost of playing multiple roles during the match. As soon as he arrived the coach immediately explained: “It’s more suited to my football.” Now it seems truly essential. Since March 30, the day the new course began, Kamada has only missed one match (due to injury): the second leg of the Italian Cup against Juventus. In the last four matches in which he took the field he never left. A situation that was unthinkable thirty days ago, but which is now a reality.
Not just minutes, running and flexibility: the former Eintracht player has also become decisive, along the lines of what was done in Germany. However, his only goal for the Biancoceleste was the one at the start of the season against Napoli. Against Genoa, however, he provided the assist for Luis Alberto’s decisive goal. Then again at the Olimpico, against Verona, he served Pedro in front of the goal, who however incredibly kicked out one-on-one with Montipò. The role of the Japanese player in the squad has been totally changed: from outside the project to almost technical leader, from difficult to deploy to the center of the game. And now his future is once again in doubt.
In recent months several teams have been interested in his profile, given his contractual situation. They call him from the Premier League, as the Bundesliga has already done, to which he has closed every door. Tudor for his part, and net of the Japanese’s performance, will try in every way to convince him to stay by activating the much talked about clause in his contract. “He’s an extraordinary player,” the coach said recently. The fans are now crazy about him: the final choice, however, is entirely in the hands of Daichi Kamada.
