Jrs, Rome: the Liberation GP in Santiago Ferraro!

2024 confirms itself as a magical season for Work Service Team Coratti who, after having achieved the world title in cyclocross with Stefano Viezzi and having already achieved two prestigious successes on the road in Castrocielo (Fr) and, last Sunday, in Mentana (Rm), she returned today to climb to the top step of the podium in Rome, in the GP Liberazione Juniores, thanks to an amazing Santiago Ferraro.

The “spring world championship” which took place on the suggestive Circuit of the Baths of Caracalla in the capital, saw the absolute protagonist of the boy directed by the DS Pierluigi Terrinoni and Ilario Contessa. Ferraro, in fact, went ahead in the first part of the race in a two-man escape attempt that lasted for about twenty kilometres; once recovered, the Work Service Team Coratti representative returned to attack, managing to make the difference during the last lap. A successful attack which allowed him to gain a few precious seconds on his pursuers and thus go on to achieve his second victory of the season, the most prestigious of his young career.

“I tried to always race in the first positions of the group from the beginning because I knew that this circuit is very tortuous and whoever is in front has an advantage over the rest of the group. Halfway through the race I tried to leave but they came to catch us, so I waited until the last lap and in one of the last climbs I managed to make the difference. Last Sunday’s victory was confirmation for me that my physical condition was good but winning here in Rome has a special flavor.” he said, after the finish line a very happy one Santiago Ferraro. “I want to dedicate this success to the entire team who has always trusted me and allowed me to grow over these years and to my family who has always been close to me.”

Big party, therefore, at Work Service Team Coratti as underlined by the words of the Patron Massimo Levorato: “This year we had the objective of being able to be protagonists and trying to obtain results in the most important races of the season. Stefano Viezzi started off on the right foot already in cyclocross, obtaining extraordinary results that acted as a driving force for the whole team. Winning the Liberation GP in Rome is something unique and special because it is an event awaited and coveted by many teams and many riders. The finish line in the Eternal City always has a particular charm and we are very happy to have hit the mark with Santiago who is a boy who has grown gradually and who, I am sure, like the rest of the team, will be able to give us many other satisfactions.”
