Marino (Rm) – The Marino Volleyball men’s C series does not want to raise the white flag. After the unexpected home defeat against Pontinia (1-3), coach Alessandro Sbacco’s group wants to turn the page and focus on tomorrow’s big match on the Latina pitch which is ahead of them by just three points and with which the third is being played place and access to the play offs. “I am convinced that we will have a great match – says the captain of the group Damiano Amici, born in 1998 – Latina is certainly a valuable team as the ranking says, but in moments of difficulty we know how to bring out character. It was a heavy defeat against Pontinia, but I’m sure it will give us the energy to react. We only need one result because with equal points we would be ahead and after this match there will only be two games left until the end of the championship.” Amici speaks in a more general way about the men’s Serie C season of Marino Pallavolo: “We started with important ambitions and with the objective of the play offs in mind: not getting there would be a disappointment” he says without mincing words. Coach Sbacco also gives an overall look at the year: “We have reached the final phase of the championship with an objective that, game after game, is becoming increasingly consolidated. The 18 victories obtained demonstrate the ability to impose tenacity and determination even in moments of critical difficulty. I have been managing this team for two years, I am very satisfied and satisfied by the qualities of these guys, both on an individual level and projected in the team context: young players who this year have demonstrated resilience, tenacity and availability in dealing with many decontextualized organizational dynamics from standard volleyball circadian rhythms. In these last three days we will meet teams with important objectives of playoffs or salvation and I expect three intense and competitive matches: I have faith in this group and if we have to “play hard” I am sure that they will not hold back with determination and desire to do good” concludes the coach.
