Giulia Melli confirmed – Women’s Serie A Volleyball League

Giulia Melli, born in Mantua, 26 years old, spiker, 185 cm, is the first official confirmation after that of coach Beppe Cuccarini, already announced in January. Giulia loves to say “Rome is my second home” and we are delighted to announce that she will be so for another season. You will wear the Wolves shirt for the third consecutive year, after having contributed as a protagonist to the victories of the Italian Cup and the A2 championship in the 2022/23 season. Last season she was one of the players most used by coach Cuccarini during the A1 series championship which saw Aeroitalia SMI Roma qualify for the first time in its history for the quarter-finals of the A1 Italian Cup and bring the capital back of Italy to the championship playoffs after 26 years of absence. In the last two seasons Giulia Melli has made 51 appearances on the pitch with the Roma shirt for a total of 169 sets played, in both championships she was the third best scorer of the team with 10.5 points on average per game. Sports Director Barbara Rossi: “Giulia Melli’s confirmation arose from a reciprocity of intentions. We wanted to continue this journey together because Giulia has been an important element for our team in the last two seasons and she is an athlete who still has room for improvement on which she can work. I believe that for her it is a great incentive to commit fully to further individual growth and to be able to contribute to the creation of a new cycle with the girls who will arrive. Her experience, offensive skills and determination will certainly be very useful for the team.”
