How do you think of Caprile’s season and its growth?
“I believe he is having a very important season. We must not forget that he started with the handicap of the injury which jeopardized his ability to play the entire first half of the season and therefore he had the difficulty of not being able to use the entire season to grow. He had to make a virtue of necessity and accelerated the pace. He played the second half of the championship and with him in goal Empoli are higher up in the standings. I must say that he made a great contribution even though he was making his debut in a big category like Serie A. For the umpteenth time he responded to such an important request.”

In Empoli he is one of the best in terms of number of saves. Have you always had this great explosiveness between the posts?
“He is a goalkeeper who knows how to play the role as almost all coaches want. He owns the penalty area. When he is solicited with his feet, he always responds presently. He is always very good at reading the various restarts, both with his feet and with his hands. He always tries to raise the bar on high balls and is good between the posts. He is a complete goalkeeper, but he knows very well that to try to reach certain levels you always have to work hard to raise the level as much as possible in everything.”

Are you also working to become Napoli’s new goalkeeper? Are there any possible scenarios for his arrival in Naples?
“We must start from the concept that everything passes through Empoli, from the experience he is having and he knows very well that gaining safety in Empoli is very important for everyone, even for him. We’ll talk about it again, but he’s an ambitious guy who doesn’t want to set himself any kind of limit and wants to get as high as possible. Since he is from Napoli, the objective is to be able to defend Napoli’s goal.”

Is your dream also to wear the national team shirt?
“Everyone always tries to play at the highest level. The moment you manage to explode in your own club and reach certain levels in a club like Napoli it is obvious that consequently you also think about the national team. For now, however, let’s go back and think about the current discussion which is the salvation to try to conquer with Empoli with all our strength.”
