And it’s immediately Crescenzi! Diego Crescenzi (LACTIC ACID MTB PASSO CORESE) from Rieti wins the first ELITE final of the Italian Trials Cup. The new competition formula, which aligns with international standards, from this year includes a 6-way final for the ELITE 20′ and 26′ category. A single lap on the 5 specially prepared competition areas with passages and obstacles of the highest level on which each finalist, in reverse order compared to the semi-final rankings, fights to win the podium. All athletes and the public thus have the opportunity to witness an exciting challenge between the best trialists.
The competition, magnificently organized by the newly created Ascoli company NARDINOCCHI ACCADEMY which was able to complete a high level trial area, which celebrated its inauguration only one year. On the elite 20 podium, just twenty points difference from the winner in second position, we find Bonalda Marco (BMT VALSASSINA MAD BROS TEAM) ahead of two very aggressive Juniors who earned the final, Bursi Cristian (MOTOCLUB LAZZATE bike trial section) and Maccianti Mattia (TADDEI FACTORY TEAM). On the top step of the podium of the elite 26 category the home champion Nardinocchi Marco (NADINOCCHI BIKE ACADEMY) ahead of Maroni Pietro (BMT VALSASSINA MAD BROS TEAM) and Bani Diego (TRIAL BIKE DOLOMITES)
The Junior race was also very good where Ambrosini Lorenzo (MOTOCLUB LAZZATE bike trial section) won by a narrow margin, ahead of a promising student Losa Patrik (BMT VALSASSINA MAD BROS TEAM) and Della Rocca Simone (TEAM BIKE VESUVIO ASD) from Campania.
The students’ race was hard fought with the winner being the Piedmontese Bertoldo Davide (TEAM CICLOTECA) ahead of Romeo Gioele (MOTOCLUB LAZZATE bike trial section) and Vindrola Nicolò (TEAM CICLOTECA)
In the numerous competition reserved for beginners, the surprising G6 Grande Matteo (ASD MARINO TRIAL ACADEMY) is ahead of Pagfani Michele (MTB AQUILE TEAM FUMANE) and another G5 Nardinocchi Sandro (NADINOCCHI BIKE ACADEMY)
As always, the Masters category was fierce, where Girelli Riccardo (MTB AQUILE TEAM FUMANE) won ahead of Salichovas Renatas (ABRUZZO BIKE TEAM) and Suliotti Linner Bruno (MTB AQUILE TEAM FUMANE)
In the two competitions reserved for numerous very young people, Granchi Enrico (ASD AVIS ROSIGNANO) won on the green route and Roselli Mirko (CRESCENZI TRIAL BIKE) won on the white route.
Present at the award ceremony were the president of the regional committee Secchi Lino and the sports councilor of the municipality of Ascoli Nico Stallone who thanked Francesco Castelli (manager of the sports centre) who strongly supported this reality and hypothesized the possibility of organizing a competition in 2025 international within the events that see Ascoli as a European city of sport.
On the Monday after the race, under the supervision of coach Angelo Rocchetti, an internship reserved for the youth categories took place which is part of a training program in preparation for the world championship which will be held in August in Germany. The Coach’s assessments: “I am very confident in the path that many athletes in the youth categories are making who, as demonstrated by the rankings, are achieving good results on higher level courses, demonstrating their condition and desire to grow. These are signs of growth of the movement which, even with the introduction of the exciting final formula, demonstrates a continuous evolution towards international levels.
