ROME – The wake of does not subside controversy after the Serie A League’s decision to set the continuation of Udinese-Roma for April 25th, suspended in the 71st minute due to the illness of the visiting defender N’Dicka. A choice that the Giallorossi club did not likewho hoped to be able to play the part of the match in Friuli later in May to better concentrate on the double Europa League semi-final against Bayer Leverkusen.

And the topic was addressed today by Lorenzo Casini who replied harshly to the Giallorossi club: “Did Roma not feel protected? I was very surprised because the interrupted match was a hypothesis well regulated by the statute – he said the president of the Serie A League on the sidelines of the ‘OnePeopleOnePlanet’ event –. It hasn’t happened for at least 15 years and this hypothesis predicts that the missing minutes will be made up the following day. The teams didn’t want to and, therefore, by statute, there were 15 days to fix the recovery”.

Casini then claims that the Serie A League did the best to meet the Giallorossi club: “Despite everything, I considered it appropriate to involve the governing body to verify whether there was the possibility of meeting Roma. This possibility, reading the statute, did not exist therefore recovery time was indicated and since it is only 18 minutes, it was asked Roma to choose the time and day to play Napoli offering the maximum possible availability for a decision where – Casini commented – there was no margin of discretion on my part.”
