Travel to Lecce prohibited for As Roma fans residing in Lazio. This was decided by the Salento prefecture following the request of the Analysis Committee for the safety of sporting events. The basis for the ban was the tense relationship between the two fans, which resulted in some scuffles on March 29th at the end of which three Giallorossi fans were subjected to Daspo, with one from Lecce arrested and a fourth Roma supporter reported.
Lecce-Roma forbidden to Roma fans
As stated in a note, the Analysis Committee for the safety of sporting events, in its session on 30 December last, recognized the concrete danger of violent actions by fans belonging to the football teams of Lecce and Rome, similarly to what happened on the occasion of other matches, given the existence of a great rivalry that has pitted them against each other for some time.

Sale prohibited to residents of Lazio
As we read again: “not being able to exclude that serious disturbances to public order and safety could occur on the occasion of the match that will be played on 6 January 2026 at the Lecce stadium, he asked the Prefect of Lecce to evaluate, as a preventive measure, the adoption of measures prohibiting the sale of coupons to residents in the Lazio region and the sale of coupons for the guest sector only to subscribers to the AS Roma loyalty program resident in regions other than Lazio, within the established limit numbering 350 coupons”.

“Therefore, having recognized the need and urgency to adopt the necessary measures aimed at ensuring the protection of public order and safety on the occasion of the aforementioned sporting competition – concludes the note – the prefecture of Lecce, in compliance with the observations of the aforementioned Committee and as agreed in the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security of 30 December 2025, with a specific provision adopted today, has established a ban on the sale of coupons to residents in the region Lazio and sale of coupons for the guest sector only to subscribers to the AS Roma loyalty program residing in regions other than Lazio, within the established limit of 350 coupons”.
