down more than 50 thousand signatures

I’m already more than 50mila the signatures collected for the request for a referendum on separation of careers. The objective of 500 thousand subscriptions by the end of January is far away, but we can certainly speak of a sprint start if we consider that the petition was opened in the days of Christmas holidays. And which so far has not received the official push of Committee of No chaired by John Bachelet nor by the acronyms that oppose the reform of the government of Giorgia Melonisuch as CGIL, ANPI and ARCI.

The petition was born from the input of 15 jurists, of which Carlo Guglielmi, a historic lawyer for grassroots unions, is the spokesperson. Despite the requests for a referendum already presented through parliament by the majority, in fact, the group has decided to activate a parallel initiative by filing a request for a popular referendum. Not having five regional councils available, we therefore need to gather half a million signatures. A goal shared by Giuseppe Contewhich – as anticipated by Done – took to the field for the petition. “We must give a signal against the Nordio reform which does not serve justice but only to protect the political caste and make it even more untouchable. We need 500 thousand signatures: that is a lot in such a short time but it is up to us to participate. Two minutes of your time to say that we are not in favor of this reform, of the attempts to speed up times referendums to not allow the No front to inform citizens and grow while many media in the hands of Government propaganda continue to spread false news on the contents and consequences of this reform”, wrote the leader of the 5 Star Movement on social media. “The truth about this law escaped Minister Nordio – added the former prime minister – on two occasions: it does not serve to improve justiceserves to make governments and politicians of all sides feel more protected and calm with respect to investigations and the work of justice. We participate, we sign, we vote.”

But why sign a petition asking the government to call a scheduled referendum anyway? There are more than one reasons, as the director explained Marco Travaglio on the Daily Fact. The main one is that this neutralizes the minister’s intent Carlo Nordio to bring forward the date of the referendum. Now that the polls show the percentage of those voting No is growing, in fact, the government is hypothesizing a coup de main to open the polls already in the first days of March: in this way the time for the electoral campaign would be reduced, securing the success of the Yes vote. If an avalanche of signatures in support of the No petition were to arrive by January 31st, however, at that point there would not be the technical time required by the Constitution and the law to set the voting date at the beginning of March. There would therefore be more time to inform citizens. In this way, the second reason why it is useful to sign would also occur: in the event of the success of the petition, in fact, the media should also talk about the reasons for Noso far largely a minority in the television debate. To sign the request for a referendum, that’s enough click on this link and authenticate using the Spid or electronic identity card: it only takes two minutes.
