“I got punched in the nightclub for no reason and no one from the club helped me.” The shocking story

“I was at the disco with two of my friends. A boy threw all three of us to the floor and then punched me for no reason.” Luca, the fictitious name of the victim of the beating, reported what happened: “I suffered a fracture of the nasal septum, but it could have been much worse.”

Luca, 35 years old, had arrived in Rome on holiday: “I went to visit a friend who lives in the capital and with another girl we went to ‘The Circle’ in Tor di Quinto”. The victim, who reported everything to the police as RomaToday was able to confirm, spoke to our newspaper about what he experienced last December 6th. After being released from hospital he returned home for the Christmas holidays.

“That night we were at the disco. While we were dancing on the main floor, we were violently pushed by other boys who were behind us. One of them threw us down and we all three fell. While I was helping my friends at a certain point I was hit by a punch from an individual who was behind me – says Luca -. Because of the punch I fell back to the ground”.

At that moment the attacker continues with his violence. “He grabbed me by the neck. Only then did some other customers of the club intervene. My friends screamed, but no one from the nightclub bothered to come. A friend of mine even went towards the bar counter to ask for the intervention of the security staff who until then had been completely absent. She also asked for the exits to be blocked so that my attacker wouldn’t lose track, but they didn’t do it.”

Luca, now with a broken nasal septum, is helped by some boys, customers like him, who bring him some ice. “It was then my friend who called the ambulance and the police. Only when we left the venue did the security personnel approach us.” The injured boy was taken to San Pietro hospital by ambulance and subsequently discharged with a prognosis of 30 days. “It’s absurd that someone goes to a nightclub to have fun, is attacked for no reason and receives no support.” Luca filed a complaint for injuries and the police are now investigating the case.
