On the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop a mega discount has appeared for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition. It was a -75% (at least in the USA) and fans obviously took advantage of the opportunity to purchase the video game.
However, it seems that in reality all this was a mistake and that CD Projekt RED had no intention of selling off Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition (which also includes the DLC).
What happened with the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition discount
The real discount for the sci-fi game is 42%: not bad, but clearly there is a notable difference compared to the previous one (it goes from $17.49 to $39.99). The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition also had an incorrect discount, but is now back at -75% as it should have been.
Who is the real antagonist of Cyberpunk 2077? It’s not Arasaka, nor Adam Smasher: CD Projekt responds
Usually the authors of a video game, when mistakes like this happen, they cancel the purchases, compensate the players and apologize. Obviously it is an unpopular move and CD Projekt RED has decided not to implement it, taking the blow and avoiding taking the game away from the lucky buyers.
X/Twitter is having some problems right now
and the post cannot be loaded
Via i social media the team said: “The discounts for Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Complete Edition shown on the Nintendo Switch 2 eShop in the Americas on December 22, 2025 were incorrect. The situation is the result of an error on our part when sending the discount. We have corrected the error and new discounts have now been applied. Purchases made at the previous discount percentage are not affected by this change.”
Obviously players praised the team for the choice. Finally, let us remember that a secret about the Cyberpunk 2077 elevators was finally revealed by CD Projekt RED.
