In a domestic interview, the Hungarian prime minister outlines his theory on what is happening in the EU, a few days after the leaders’ summit which renewed the commitment to support the country led by Volodymyr Zelensky at all costs. «It is a vortex of war that could drag Europe into the abyss. Brussels plays with fire. In Europe the atmosphere is that of war and politics is dominated by the logic of war. I see everyone preparing for war”, explains the Hungarian prime minister on the radio, adding that Hungary “must stay out of it. This is not our war. We don’t want it and we don’t want Hungary to go back to being the toy of the great powers.”

This is how Orbàn decides to play his game in view of the next European elections. War is not what Europeans want, he reiterates in an emphatic video then published on his social networks complete with English subtitles. The day after the official launch of his electoral campaign towards the European vote which sees him – according to him – favored over the left-wing coalitions. «The pro-war governments, the bureaucrats in Brussels, the George Soros network are sending millions of dollars to Budapest to the pro-war left. Who make no secret that they want a change of government that suits their customers. A pro-war government instead of a pro-peace government, a puppet government subordinated to Brussels and Washington instead of a national government,” Orbàn added on Facebook.
