Always the name of Morgan is associated with controversy and this time his “enemy” of the day is Ultimo, the singer-songwriter who has been on the crest of the wave for years. According to the famous musician, known more for his media storms that for his songs, Ultimo would even have committed the crime of embezzlement. But what are you talking about? Here’s what’s been happening in the last few hours.

Morgan thunders against Ultimo and accuses him of embezzlement: his words are serious

In the last days the name of Ultimo was to be associated only upon the release of his latest album “Altrove”, but the Roman singer-songwriter found himself at the center of a storm. The album of unreleased songs out Friday 17 May, under the independent label Ultimo Records, has already sparked controversy, to everyone’s amazement. According to Morgan, in fact, owning an album with the name of one of his historic songs is a crime of embezzlement. He should therefore cite it to avoid this problem: but is it really like that? Let’s see what he wrote to the singer.

The letter signed by him appeared on Mowmag.com Morgan who essentially writes to Ultimo to quote him in case he wanted to pay homage to him. If, however, he had not wanted to cite anything, they would have had to point out to him that he could not have used that title because it is that of a very famous song by him. Here are the words: “It seemed a bit strange to me that you titled the album “Altrove”, not for anything else, but because a quote must report the source, otherwise it is a undue subtraction of authorship of a work”.

The singer-songwriter then continues by specifying clearly what he means to say: “Let’s imagine that I make an album called “Il cielo in una stanza” or “Albachiara”, what would you think? First: that I did the cover or a tribute to Gino Paoli or Vasco Rossi. Second: that I don’t know those pieces, and you think you had an amazing idea because they are actually great titles. But there’s one small detail: they’re not mine. So if I’m a true artist it embarrasses me and I change the title of my album. Third: that I am really short of ideas and use those of others, which is not befitting of a respectable artist, or at least of an original artist.” In short, he certainly doesn’t send word to her, as she has always done.

Finally Morgan concludes by accusing Ultimo of being unoriginal, but also creative in his opinion “Elsewhere” is not a good title for an album. It wasn’t in 2002, when he chose him for a piece, let alone in 2024. He therefore advises the Roman singer-songwriter to seek more in his creativity a good title for his album, thus also avoiding embezzlement. Will Ultimo change his mind at this point? We’ll see!
