Rockin’1000 will make its debut in Portugal on Saturday 14 September at the Estádio Municipal in Leiria. This event will see 1000 musicians play in unison with a repertoire of iconic covers that have shaped the history of rock, all in a single, exciting two-hour performance.
Known throughout the world for the viral video that brought the Foo Fighters to Cesena, Rockin’1000 is an unprecedented musical project that has an international community of over 80,000 musicians. In Portugal, this event is presented in collaboration with Mot – Memories of Tomorrow, a leader in the organization of large events in the country. On the occasion of the Rockin’1000 concert in Portugal, 200 drummers, 300 guitarists, 200 bass players, 50 keyboard players and 250 singers will be involved, for a total of 1000 talents gathered to create an unprecedented musical experience, combining the classics of international rock with songs from Portuguese rock culture.

“We are thrilled to bring Rockin’1000 to Portugal for the first time. This new stage in our journey is an exciting opportunity for us and we are certain that it will be an extraordinary experience” declares Fabio Zaffagnini, Founder of Rockin’1000. “Over the last 10 years, we have crossed numerous countries, Italy, France, Germany, Brazil, Spain, USA and Korea, expanding our culture and understanding of rock music through meetings with different musicians, famous and otherwise, who have decided to join the project. One constant remains unchanged: the reaction of the public the spectators stand up, dance and sing at the top of their lungs from the first song to the last. It is an emotion that is difficult to describe in words, the only way to understand what happens is to participate.”

Applications for musicians are always open on the website www.rockin1000.com and in Portugal both those who are already registered and new talents from Portuguese territory are welcome. Rockin’1000 is looking for guitarists, bassists, drummers, keyboardists and singers of all ages (as long as they are adults) and backgrounds, and invites them to apply by May 15th to experience a unique opportunity: playing together in a stadium, in front of an enthusiastic audience, to celebrate Rock music like never before.
