Another chapter in the Napoli-Khvicha Kvaratskhelia case.
After the words first of the father and then of the agent last night, late at night the Neapolitan club responded with a statement.
“In reference to the statements of Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, and his father Badri, Calcio Napoli reiterates that the player has a contract for another three years with the club. Kvaratskhelia is not on the market. It is not the agents or fathers who decide the future of a player under contract with Napoli but the Calcio Napoli club!!! End of story,” we read on Twitter.
According to Fabrizio Romano, president Aurelio De Laurentiis has already sent a renewal proposal to Kvara, with a salary increase and a new termination clause, after the rumors that PSG would like him as their first transfer target. Now the ball passes to the player and his agent.
The father had said: “I don’t want Khvicha to stay in Naples. He worked with 4 different coaches in one year, which is worrying. He will decide, but it’s inconvenient for me. I haven’t spoken to him and I won’t until the end of Euro 2024,” he told Sport Imedi, a Georgian media outlet.
His agent Jugeli, however, was more clear: “We want to leave Naples, but we are waiting for the end of Euro 2024. Our goal is a team that plays in the Champions League. The worst thing is that if he stays here, Khvicha will lose a year because of this… we are worried,” he also told Sport Imedi.
