Rains and showers from early morning. Orange in the rest of the island

Intense rains and thunderstorms, especially on the western side. The Civil Protection Department has issued a warning and will be on red alert throughout the province of Trapani and in some areas of the Palermo area. Starting from tonight on the western part of the island there will be heavy rains, showers with strong gusts of wind and storm surges and frequent electrical activity. For this reason, schools in some cities will be closed. Let’s see which ones.

In Palermo and Trapani

Schools closed in Palermo: «Given the red weather alert disclosed by the Civil Protection – writes the press office of Mayor Lagalla – tomorrow all schools of all levels in Palermo will remain closed. In these minutes the ordinance is being defined ». Even the mayor of Trapani, Tranchida, has ordered the closure of all schools, including private institutes and conservatories. Same thing in Agrigento and in numerous towns in the Palermo, Trapani and Agrigento areas.

Even in small towns

Institutes also closed in Terrasini, Trappeto, Balestrate, Partinico and Montelepre and in Campobello di Mazara, Partanna, Castelvetrano, Marsala, Petrosino and Erice. While in the Agrigento area in Canicattì, Favara, Sciacca, Palma di Montechiaro, Aragona, Comitini, Cianciana and Alessandria della Rocca.

Orange alert

The weather conditions are improving in the rest of the region, but it is still a weather alert. It will be orange in Messina, Agrigento, Enna, Caltanissetta and in some areas of Palermo. In the eastern part of the island, i.e. in the provinces of Ragusa, Catania and Syracuse, the climatic situation should be better and the civil protection has issued a yellow alert.
