Great anticipation for the penultimate event of the festival Nights of Stars summer: Thursday, July 4that ore 21at Courtyard of the University of Bari (Entrance to Umberto Square), the iconic artist of Italian music Irene Big will be the protagonist of “Io in blues”. This project represents since its birth her act of love towards the blues, a genre that has profoundly influenced modern music in all its forms, from soul to rap, from jazz to rock, up to funk. The chameleonic Florentine artist, always ready to reinvent herself, to explore new musical horizons, transmits this attitude in all her eclectic artistic production: from the reinterpretation of the great Italian and international classics in a jazz key with Stefano Bollaniat the video art con i Pastisfrom the pop of his solo career to rock opera The Witches Seedcomposed by Stewart Copelandin which he played the leading role.
In this special tribute to the blues under the stars in Bari, Irene Grandi will perform pieces by legends such as Etta James, Otis Redding, Willie Dixon, Tracy Chapman e Sadebut also of great italian artists come Pine Daniel, Lucio Battisti e Mina. Furthermore, it will propose some of the his songs, rearranged in a suggestive rock-blues key. “Io in Blues” will also be a tribute to her musical roots, her first experiences on stage and her artistic evolution, which led her to develop a unique and recognizable style. Alongside her versatile voice and unstoppable grit in this extraordinary musical journey, there will be four exceptional musicians: Max Whining at the guitar, Gianluca Tagliavini all’Hammond e keyboards, Piero Hospitals al basso e Fabrizio Morganti at the drums. Together, they will give life to a concert that will celebrate the richness and essence of the blues, in an evening of pure musical magic, a unique opportunity to rediscover these timeless melodies through the interpretations of one of the most important Italian singers.
Before the concert the now highly appreciated “Spritz-iamo Musica”the moment dedicated to the aperitif that will be held from 8.00pm to 8.40pmto start the evening in a convivial and relaxed way, and immerse ourselves in the suggestive atmosphere of the Courtyard of the University of Bari, and then at 9.00 pm enjoy the concert.
