ITS Umbria Academy: A bridge between training and work with 39 courses and almost a thousand students from 2021 to 2025

The ITS Umbria Academy held its public meeting, an event that allowed to take stock of the investments financed by the Pnrr and to take stock of the two-year periods from 2021 to 2025. In this period, the Academy activated 39 courses, involving almost a thousand students. This institution, promoted by the Ministry of Education and Merit and the Umbria Region, offers a unique opportunity to young graduates to acquire advanced technological skills and facilitate their entry into the world of work.

The ITS Umbria Academy courses are distributed in various campuses and laboratories located in Perugia, Foligno, Terni and Città di Castello. These courses are the result of a collaboration between the Regional Foundation and the main companies in the region. Marco Giulietti, President of the ITS Umbria Academy, underlined the importance of this institution and its commitment to technological and curricular consolidation and updating.

The assembly was an opportunity to reflect on the present and future of tertiary education and to share the results achieved. The development path for the coming years was also illustrated, supported by the investments of the PNRR, which will lead to the strengthening of technological innovation of campuses and laboratories by the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.

Michele Fioroni, Regional Councilor for Economic Development, emphasized the commitment of ITS Umbria to continue implementing its training project, with the aim of establishing a technological tertiary system in Umbria. He also spoke about the Pnrr project, which involves an investment of six million euros and is continuing with the development of campuses equipped with cutting-edge equipment.

The meeting was opened by greetings from the Mayor of Perugia, Vittoria Ferdinandi, and saw the participation of various actors from the world of work and institutions. The President of the Umbria Region, Donatella Tesei, concluded the proceedings and awarded the diplomas of the two-year academic period 2021-2023 of the ITS Umbria Academy.

ITS Umbria Academy is a two-year polytechnic academy in applied sciences and technologies. Since its foundation in 2011, the Academy has grown both in the number of students and training courses and companies involved. The Academy’s courses are distributed across three campuses located in Perugia, Foligno and Terni. In 2024-2025, a new course in Mechatronics-Paper Engineering will be launched at the branch office in Città di Castello. The Academy is involved in all technological areas required by law, offering a wide range of courses in various sectors.
